Father Samir Sarkis
Pastor
Father Samir Sarkis was born in Rayak, Houch Hala, Lebanon on June 26, 1977. He entered the Seminary of Saint Savior in Saida, Lebanon, on September 1st, 1997, professed his first religious vows on September 6th, 1998, and his solemn vows on September 20th, 2003. Father Samir was ordained priest on July 31st, 2004 by his Exc. Msgr. Salim Ghazal after completing his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Holy Spirit University, Kaslik, Lebanon.
Father Samir was appointed Pastor Priest in Saint Elias Melkite Catholic Church, Haifa, from 2005 until 2011. He then attended the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, Italy from 2011 to 2014 and obtained his Master’s degree in “Marriage and Family”. From 2014 to 2015, he was appointed Secretary of the Superior General of the Basilian Salvatorian Order, Archimandrite Antoine Dib.
Father Samir was appointed Parochial Vicar at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, in June 2015, by H.E Bishop Ibrahim M. Ibrahim. In February 2017, he was appointed Pastor Priest at Saints Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church, Ottawa, by H.E. Bishop Ibrahim M. Ibrahim.
